biography
Moreno was born in Moselle, France. He spent his childhood between Alsace and Saintes Maries de la Mer. In Forbach, in camps, he listened to Dorado and in Strasbourg, it is Tchavolo who became his teacher. They of course played Django. The family settled in one place, but the need of journeys and the love of the music remain anchored.
Later, he traveled to Toulon to play in bars and restaurants where he made a decisive meeting: Tchan tchou, who would become his teacher during 4 years.
At the Saints Marie de la Mer, he met Manitas de plata who advised him to go to Paris to show his talents. And this is what he did in a first place, just to see and take the temperature of the capital. He met all the leaders of the Gipsy Jazz there.
Then, he returned to his journey between Alsace and the Saints Marie where he met Boï and Negrita with whom he shared the art of the rumba gypsy.
He settled again in Paris at the beginning of the 90s and made his first disk " YOCHKA " while making the Brasserie des Halls his headquarters every Thursday and Friday evening till the middle of 2004.
The ultimate meeting was the one with the gypsy singer Marina who would later become his wife. They brought up together a new style of mixture of gypsy songs. After some solo album purely made in the tradition of gipsy jazz, a new album in 2005 allows to listen to Marina singing some Gypsy songs among the standards of Moreno.
In 2007, Moreno made "dango club", by incorporating the clarinet of Florin Gügülica, he recreates a new association of "sounds" well known at the time when django played with brass instruments.
