Biography
Born in Braunschweig/Germany into a musicians family Heike MATTHIESEN began to play piano et age of four. With 18 she changed to the guitar and just one year later she was starting to study at the Hochschule in Frankfurt. She made her artistic diploma in 1993.
Afterwards she became masterstudent of Pepe Romero. She also took masterclasses with Leo Brouwer, Roland Dyens, Manuel Barrueco, David Russell , Alvaro Pierri and many more. Besides her solocareer she is performing in the opera houses in Frankfurt, Darmstadt and Wiesbaden.
She is also a highly regarded chambermusic partner, she played with Los Romeros and performes in recital of the Villa Musica in Mainz.
Heike MATTHIESEN performed in Japan, USA, Denmark, Iceland, Austria , Spain, Poland, Bulgary and France, also at festivals like the Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival and guitar events.
Her next album will be recorded in 2009.
